Mindful Alcohol Ink Art Workshop exploring Emotions

Give yourself a refreshing creative break and take some time for yourself to bring colour, creativity and mindfulness into your weekend. In this class, you will have personal attention from me as you create your own original abstract alcohol ink artwork, along with guided meditations to look into emotions and processes we can explore and heal them.

This workshop is held within my solo exhibition E-motions – you can find out more about that here

Why expressing emotions through art is helpful:

  • Art provides a healthy outlet for feelings to be moved through rather than suppressing or getting stuck in them.
  • Creates a safe containment for emotions to be expressed
  • Helps to be more in touch and aware of your feelings
  • Helps to bring insight and new understanding to your emotions
  • Helps to be more comfortable with uncomfortable emotions

The Medium
Not familiar with alcohol inks? This medium allows you to abandon perfectionism and be free and playful as you dabble with different coloured inks and direct them with your breath to form ethereal lines, shapes and textures.

At the end of the workshop, you will be re-energised, delighted by your creative genius, and will have multiple frame-worthy artworks on yupo paper to take home with you. Your finished pieces will serve as a visual reminder to connect back to nature.

The Space
Our studio is situated in a pop-up indoor urban farm in the heart of Sydney’s CBD – Cultivate Urban Farm Unit 10 / 275 Kent street Sydney, NSW 2000.
Lush living green surrounds will inspire you to produce art that mimics the patterns found in nature.

This pop-up class is expected to reach capacity quickly. Snap up a seat and don’t miss out!

What people are saying about this workshop:

“It’s actually really meditative”

A little bit about me

I am a university qualified mixed media artist living on a farm in Kurrajong, Australia, at the foothills of the magnificent Blue Mountains.

I began my career in graphic design but changed directions artistically when my inner journey led me to explore the powerful transformative power of yoga and meditation. My art is now more fluid, mirroring my practice, and my creations are themselves vessels for inner enquiry.

I use the organic medium of alcohol-based inks and illustration, creating abstract works with unexpected forms and vibrant earth colours. My process is itself a form of meditation, with each layer teaching me a new lesson through creation, whether that be letting go or practicing presence and awareness.

I hope my work brings joy to others and a feeling of connection to the beauty and mystery of nature and to one’s own inner world.
